
本书分为两个部分,即读、写部分和视、听、说部分,并分别围绕着8个主题,从全国大学英语四、六级考试的听、说、读、写的角度进行编写。阅读技能指导、听力策略指导、写作指导与单元内容有机衔接、浑然一体,既可以作为单元的一个部分(Lead In),也可以单独使用。本书可作为艺术设计类专业的教学用书,也可作为从事艺术设计的人员的参考用书。
随着大学英语教学改革的不断深入,艺术设计类专业的英语教学也面临新的挑战。本书是大学英语教师通过对专业教师和学生的调研,为艺术设计类学生在大学英语学习提高阶段使用而编写的一本专业用途英语(English for Specific Purposes,ESP)教材,旨在培养艺术设计类学生的英语应用能力和设计师素养,增强他们跨文化交际意识和交际能力,同时发展他们自主学习的能力,使他们在学习、生活、社会交往和未来工作中能够有效地使用英语,满足新时代国家、社会、学校和个人发展的需要。同时,根据艺术设计类学生的思想特点,增加思政元素,引导艺术设计类学生树立正确的世界观、人生观、价值观,增强他们的团队合作意识,强化他们的责任心、社会责任感,使他们能对西方文化辩证地理解吸收,并用英语传播中国传统文化、工艺,以及构建人类命运共同体。 本书是以“立德树人”为指导,根据应用型本科院校的艺术设计类专业学生的需求和水平编写的,加强了HMGN思政元素—人文(Humane)、极简(Minimal)、绿色(Green)、民族(National),分别对应着单元一、单元六,单元二、单元七,单元八,单元三、单元四。本书会给学习者带来潜移默化的影响,并有利于培养负责、仁爱、节约、有国际视野和中西设计文化背景的设计师。 本书注重听、说、读、写、译一体的结构,不仅有生动的配图说明,而且每个单元都有丰富的视听材料,增加了本书的趣味性和实用性。本书不仅把课文中重要的专业词汇(*)和全国大学英语四、六级考试词汇(#)进行了分类,还设计了全国大学英语四、六级考试题型的练习题,有助于学生进行复习与熟练掌握。 在此,深深感谢我所在的浙江科技学院的领导、同事和学生。浙江科技学院艺术学院的老师和学生为这本书提供了非常好的学习主题和建议。特别感谢朱吉梅教授在百忙之中审核本书的初稿并给予修改意见。感谢王金生教授为本书特别编写了写作技巧。感谢商颖、何小聪和吴青等为本书的编写付出辛勤的劳动。希望本书为艺术设计类专业的学生提供更广的学习思路。 编 者
