本教材主要由两大部分组成:一是与学生学习、生活有关的日常口语部分;二是与学生所学专业有关的专业英语部分。日常口语部分（Daily Oral English）包含 18个单元，每个单元分为对话、常用表达、练习以及知识延伸四个模块。该部分以口语实际运用为目的，侧重培养学生在日常生活中的听、说、读、练能力。专业英语部分（Professional English）包含 10个单元，每个单元分为对话、专业术语、知识延伸以及阅读四个模块。该部分编者依据技工院校专业设置，通过与各专业课教师一一对接，针对各专业核心要点，查阅各种资料，收录各专业最新、最实用的专业英语词汇和术语，侧重培养学生相关专业的英语能力，以适应不同工作岗位的需要，为今后的可持续发展打好基础。本教材以提高学生英语运用能力为宗旨，激发和培养学生学习的兴趣，提高自主学习的能力，为学生步入社会和进一步学习打好基础。教材内容贴近生活，题材多样，生动有趣，实用性强，能够满足学生未来工作需求。
