本书是根据英语导游、英文领队的职业标准和工作过程的实际需要，围绕培养应用型旅游英语人才的目标，以旅游英语应用能力培养为核心进行总体设计和编写的一部实用型教材。本书分成“接团—安排食宿—游览景点—购物—处理突发事件及送团—接待礼仪”六大模块，按照上述六大模块分为六单元，每章涉及内容虽然各不相同，但都尽量保持相同体例和环节编写。本书供普通及成人高等院校英语及旅游酒店专业学生使用，也可供水平相当的从业人员使用。

邬庆儿，英国利兹大学英语教育文学硕士。自1995年起任广州电大英语教师、副教授、教务副处长。曾获“广州市岗位能手”、“广州市优秀教师”等称号，主持全国电大、市、校级课题10多项，获得全国电大、省、市、校各类表彰近20项，发表论文近30篇。
